My Story

A High-Performance Mindset touches everything I do.

As a Leader in Healthcare and Sport. As a Founder. As a Consultant. As a Program Developer. As a Mentor. As a Psychologist. As a Mom.

I’ve lived high-performance sport from every angle.

From national team gymnast to trusted psychologist for hundreds of our nation’s top performers, including Olympian, Paralympian, World-Class, and Professional athletes.

From 20 + years of individualized care to Mental Health Leader for national sport organizations.

I’m also the proud mom of two national team athletes.

But it hasn’t always been easy….

The Dimmer Switch Started With Me

Being "on" as a high performer was built into my DNA.

As a national team gymnast, I learned early: achievement meant pushing through. Performing meant ignoring the signals. Excellence meant cutting off parts of myself that got in the way.

For years, that formula worked. I achieved by disembodying. By surviving, not thriving.

The ON/OFF switch became my way of coping with uncertainty. It provided guardrails. A false sense of security, certainty, identity. If I could just stay "on" enough, I'd be safe. If I crashed "off," at least I knew where I stood.

But it was precarious. It didn't actually help me navigate uncertainty or feel confident when stressors knocked me down. It didn't build resilience. It built rigidity masked as discipline.

Until everything shifted.

Nearly twenty years ago, having kids forced a reckoning I couldn't avoid. I couldn't just focus on being "on" anymore. The old formula (push harder, achieve more, prove your worth) stopped working when I had two tiny humans who needed me present, not perfect.

I had to turn inward. To reconnect with myself, my values, my "why." To figure out how to flex with the added demands and take care of myself while caring for others. To stop abandoning parts of myself in pursuit of some external standard of excellence.

That's when I discovered the Dimmer Switch.

Not as a clever metaphor to teach clients. As a lifeline for myself.

I learned that presence beats perfection. That I could maintain high standards while being present to my own and others' humanity. That shifting seamlessly between performing and being wasn't weakness. It was mastery. That integrating all parts of myself didn't diminish my capacity. It unlocked even more potential, energy, and impact.

Mindfulness saved me. Not as a quick fix, but as a practice. A way of being.

And it changed everything.

From Personal Practice to Professional Mission

Once I understood how to bridge my own gaps, I started helping others do the same.

I work with high achievers: Olympians before competition, executives before career defining presentations, healthcare professionals navigating impossible demands. People who are performing through disembodiment just like I did. I see them using the same ON/OFF switch to cope with uncertainty. I teach them to reconnect with their signals, regulate their nervous systems, and access their capacity from integration rather than force.

I lead teams through transformation - from stuck to sustainable excellence. Not generic team building, but the real work of bridging communication gaps, building trust across generations and roles, helping people unlock potential in each other. We go from pandemic survival mode to stronger than before because we address how humans actually connect and perform together.

And I partner with organizations to redesign systems that are actively undermining the behaviors leadership wants to build. Reducing two year mental health wait times to under two months at Humber River Hospital. Developing national mental health strategies for Canadian sport organizations. Creating structures where excellence and wellbeing reinforce each other instead of compete.

The Dimmer Switch is the key to executing on demand while honoring our humanity.

The Dimmer Switch mentality now shapes everything I do. I focus on integration, not overdrive... Most days.

What Drives Me

I'm not interested in helping leaders survive one more day in overdrive.

I'm interested in helping them discover what becomes possible when they operate from integration. When they bridge the gaps between striving and being, between individual brilliance and team potential, between organizational values and operational reality.

Because I've lived the transformation. I practice it daily. I've facilitated it with Olympians and executives, healthcare teams and sport organizations. And I know, from every angle, that integration unlocks capacity you didn't know you had.

The executive who learned she could be both strategic and present, and watched her leadership transform.

The athletes who discovered that presence in their bodies unlocked performance they couldn't access through force alone.

The teams that learned to leverage individual strengths to elevate collective performance, and vice versa.

The organizations that stopped treating wellness and performance as separate and started designing systems where both thrive.

Teaching leaders and teams how to Bridge the Mental Health-Performance Gap is my passion. It's also my practice.

Together, we make sure you and your people execute on demand and keep raising the bar, not by abandoning your humanity, but by finally honoring it.

Because excellence isn't what happens when you cut off parts of yourself to perform.

It's what becomes possible when you stop fighting your humanity and start leveraging it.
